STM 2018 Peru (Cusco)

You want to live a life that matters. You want to feel significant, empowered, and for your life to count for something. You read about the way the followers of Jesus lived in the first century, and you long for that kind of life — where living out your faith means hearing the voice of God and changing people’s lives.

You want to go to the next level with God. You want a changed life.

Adventures in Missions has taken more than 115,000 people on mission trips around the world. Through various short and long-term programs, Adventures In Missions helps people from all walks of life discover the world, who Jesus is, and what Jesus has called them to: making disciples of all nations (Matthew 28) and being his witnesses to the ends of the earth (Acts 1).

Imagine experiencing firsthand how to listen to the voice of God, serve others in high-need ministry contexts, and make a real, tangible difference in the lives of others.

If you want to join a Christ-centered community committed to doing what the first generation of disciples did, then it’s time for you to join us in…

Filled with jaw-dropping terrain, Peru’s landscape includes the lofty peaks of the Andes, vast coastal deserts and the lush, tropical rainforests of the Amazon Basin. The birthplace of several proud, ancient civilizations, present-day Peru is home to multiple indigenous groups that blend into a unique and beautiful culture. Sadly, the people of Peru struggle with high levels of poverty and class inequality. Government corruption hinders Peru’s economic development and the people face many problems such as teenage pregnancy, substance abuse, and crime (particularly theft).

Difficult circumstances have created a deep hunger for hope.

Ministry:

You will partner with a local special needs orphanage in Cusco, visiting local churches and doing work with local church plants. You’ll also get to be involved in:

  • Kids Ministry: You’ll be able to spend time with the kids, playing with them and helping them develop relational and physical skills, and giving plenty of hugs!
  • Work Projects: You’ll help with construction projects around the orphanage, helping improve the orphanage that is a safe home for these precious children.

Lodging

You’ll stay in a Ministry House with 12 mattresses, hot showers, and western toilets. You’ll have electricity, clean water, and wifi!

God is calling you to journey with Him, to share His love with the nations and establish His Kingdom on earth. Will you join Him in Peru?

Pray for Peru

Foreign missions have passed through difficult times, especially missions from the USA (over half of the missionary force in Peru); anti-US bias, accusations of espionage, occasional lack of cultural sensitivity, active hostility of anthropologists regarding Amerindian groups and widespread activities of Mormons and JWs have not helped. The majority of missionary effort is rightly directed to pioneer work in the eastern jungle, Bible translation, leadership training and the developing of holistic ministry.
