Adventures in Missions has taken more than 115,000 people on mission trips around the world. Through various short and long-term programs, Adventures In Missions helps people from all walks of life discover the world, who Jesus is, and what Jesus has called them to: making disciples of all nations (Matthew 28) and being his witnesses to the ends of the earth (Acts 1).
What does Adventures offer youth leaders and participants?
Planned ministry — we coordinate all the ministry for your group with our ministry contacts or international bases in every location we send teams. We believe in fostering a lasting impact anywhere we send a team, therefore we only send teams where we have a strategic ministry partner or long-term base established.
Leadership — your trip will be lead by one to two project leaders, trained by Adventures, to take care of scheduling and logistics, and to serve as your main point of contact with us.
Freedom — your youth leader can be as hands-on or hands-off as they like! Planning worship, teachings, devotions, and free time is open for you to lead or can be passed to our Project Leader.
Logistics — we handle all the details from insurance and rental cars, to meals and supplies. It is all covered! You will simply get your group to the trip destination’s airport.
Debrief — Adventures in Missions values the process. We will give your students the space to talk about and understand their experiences daily. They may see a part of the world they have never seen before, and our leaders will be there to walk alongside your group as they process and respond.
Devotionals — Adventures has created custom devotional journals to help walk you and your group through what they are experiencing on their trip. These devotionals will be mailed out to your prior to your trip.
You want to take your youth to the next level with God. You want changed lives.
Imagine your youth group experiencing the world, listening to the voice of God, serving others, and making a real, tangible difference in the lives of others.
Imagine your youth group going to …
New Orleans is a hopping city full of good food, music, and rich culture.
Located on the Mississippi River, this city is the birthplace of jazz and a melting pot of French, African, and American cultures. In 2005, Hurricane Katrina swept through New Orleans, striking a devastating blow to the livelihood of every resident. Nearly 80% of the city flooded, leaving a trail of destruction. Overnight, thousands of people became homeless and unemployed. The nation rallied around relief efforts in the early days following the hurricane, but slowly national attention shifted further away from those whose lives were destroyed.
It takes far more than bricks and lumber to rebuild a devastated city. Your youth group can partner with those who are helping rebuild lives and restoring hope in New Orleans.
While in New Orleans, you will join the missions of Trumpet of Truth or First Baptist Avondale (your ministry partner will depend on the window of time you are in New Orleans).
Community Outreach: Your team will be involved with inner-city ministry, building relationships, and feeding a community in poverty. Your team will join Pastor Collins of Trumpet of Truth and his team at an apartment complex where they hand out groceries and pray for people. They take one day to put on a VBS for the kids in that apartment complex, providing hot meals when they can. A couple times a year they put on a big cook out for the police department just to say thank you for their services, so you might get the chance to participate in that as well!
Sports Camp: The team will run a sports camp. Part of the team will go to the park/fields and start playing with kids, while the rest of the team goes out to invite other kids to join. The team will make a detailed schedule of what they want the day to look like in order to keep the kids engaged. Before the team leaves for lunch they will have time to sing a few songs with the kids and teach a short bible lesson.
Lodging
The team will be housed in a local church with bunk beds or mattresses on the floor, bathrooms, showers, and kitchen.
God is calling you to journey with Him, to share His love with the nations and establish His Kingdom on earth. Will you join Him in New Orleans?
Many opportunities remain for missionaries and ministries, church planting and pioneer work. Pray for good church-mission relationships, and for the hope of the Gospel to be the focus of the people in the midst of the recovery from travesties like mass-shootings and hurricanes.
