AMB 2016 Peru

**Great news – the deadline for this trip has been extended! 50% of the trip cost will be due upon application.**

An adventure awaits you in Peru!

From the lofty peaks of the Andes mountains to the jungles of the Amazon Basin, Peru is one of the most beautiful countries on the planet.

The birthplace of proud, ancient civilizations, present-day Peru is a mix of the old and the new, where the twenty-first century meets pristine indigenous cultures, untouched by the Western world. They live in straw huts, eat from the land, and live just as their ancestors did centuries ago.

There are entire villages deep in the jungle who have never heard of Jesus.

Peru is also a country of deep poverty. There are very rich people and very, very poor—and very few in between.

Their difficult circumstances have created a strong hunger for hope.

Peruvians—especially those living in poverty—are amazingly open and responsive to the Gospel. God is powerfully at work in this South American country.

Ministry:

While in Peru, a village in the Amazon Rainforest will be your home base. You’ll partner with a local pastor, on a wide variety of ministry opportunities in two jungle villages, according to how the Lord has equipped your team. These could include:

  • Village Ministry: You’ll probably boat down the river or hike jungle trails to do evangelism and children’s ministry, in addition to equipping pastors in the Amazon to teach the Gospel in this remote area.
  • Relational Evangelism: You’ll make relationships with people wherever you go, meeting parents of kids and visiting their homes. You could teach English, give guitar lessons, or learn how to maintain property Amazon-style (by swinging a machete).

The need is great, and your opportunities to serve are endless. Ministry begins where your passions and the needs of the Peruvian people meet. Whatever you do, bring them hope and a reminder of God’s good plans for their future.

Will you join us in Peru?
