An adventure awaits you in Swaziland!
Swaziland is like no place on earth. It’s a land of beauty and safaris, rich with tradition, and its people love to laugh. Tucked within the mountains of southern Africa, Swaziland has remained hidden from the world until recently.
No country on earth has been more devastated by HIV/AIDS. With the highest rate of infection in the world, the disease has affected almost every family in Swaziland. Forty percent of Swazi children have been orphaned because of infected parents. Words like “rape” and “abuse” can be found in schoolchildren’s workbooks. Mothers are widowed, left with no means to support their hungry families.
These statistics continue to increase at an alarming rate. Women and children are often left malnourished, uneducated, and without hope.
Restore hope to those left behind by the pandemic.
Adventures has been based in Swaziland for over 10 years. Your team will work alongside Adventure’s long term base focusing highly on orphan care.
The Adventures base in Swaziland is centered around Orphan Care, primarily through places called Carepoints. These ministry hubs focus on local infrastructure, discipleship, church growth, and sustainability projects.
Ministry:
While in Swaziland, you serve in:
- Kids Ministry/VBS: Spend most of your time at the Carepoints, playing with, teaching, and helping care for the children who come for a daily meal and a safe place to be kids.
- Sports Ministry: Play football (soccer) with the guys and netball (like basketball) with the girls.
- Community Outreach: Visit homes and hospitals in the community to meet people, hear their stories, and pray for them.
- Agricultural Ministry: As the Carepoints work to develop sustainability in their communities, a major project is the garden. Your team will have the opportunity to help tend this garden alongside the people of Swaziland.
