Cameroon – Ambassador

The application deadline has been extended for this trip. At this time, there may be an additional fee added to the cost of the trip.

What Is Needed:

Despite its development, a high number of Cameroonians are very poor. With poverty comes a lack of education, for even public schools are expensive, requiring fees for books, uniforms, and basic attendance.

Physically, the people of Cameroon are hungry due to lack of money and governmental mismanagement of funds. Spiritually, they are hungry as well. The Gospel presentation has been diluted and many do not know the truth of the Word of God.

What You Will Do:

Your team will spend the majority of the trip in the English speaking area of Buea, with a possibility of ministry time in French Douala as well. The team will work with Child Evangelism Fellowship reaching out to the villages "no one wants to go to" (in comparison to the larger populated cities). Your focus will be children, because if you can teach them about Christ, they will grow up to teach those who go behind them. Possible ministries include: Good News Clubs, painting schools, church ministry, kids ministry, working in an orphanage for handicapped and HIV kids, and hospital ministry.

About This Location

Known as "Africa in Miniature", Cameroon is a land of diversity. Its landscape contains the full scope of the continent itself-beaches, rainforests, deserts, mountains, and savannahs. With both French and British influence, Cameroon has a mostly stable political and social climate, a relatively low AIDS rate, and a population that is roughly 40% Christian, 40% Indigenous, and 20% Muslim.
