Named after the Spanish word for “Equator”, Ecuador is full of natural beauty. From the Amazon River to Andean glacial volcanoes, this country—and its people—are sure to enthrall you. Unfortunately, its people are also no stranger to poverty.
With 25% of its populations living below the poverty line, many men, women, and children are struggling to get by. You will get the opportunity to feed the hungry, but also share the love of Jesus.
Ministry
Your team will work alongside our ministry partner Pan de Vida Ministry in Quito, Ecuador. Pan de Vida’s vision is to gather the resources to help less fortunate people to come to a personal relationship with Jesus and to develop as disciples of Jesus.
Get excited, because this long-established ministry will have you deeply invested in the community of Quito! Their initiatives include nutrition and hygiene, biblical teaching, counseling and fellowship, education, and work training. They accomplish these through food distribution programs, micro-business projects, ministry to youth at risk, literacy programs, clothes closet, public health and home improvement programs.
You could be involved in many ministries while there, depending on the current needs when you arrive. A few potential opportunities include VBS, Sports Camps, Micro Business Projects, construction/work projects, health fairs, cooking and serving food, and helping lead worship and sharing the Gospel message at meals for the community.
The best way to prepare your heart for ministry is to be open to whatever God might have prepared for you. Expect the unexpected when in comes to opportunities, but of one thing you can be certain: you can expect to see Jesus transform lives while you’re serving in Ecuador!
