Known best for its beautiful beaches, the Philippines appears to be paradise. After all, it’s a country made out of islands. Thousands of tourists travel there every year just to relax and enjoy the adventure the country has to offer.
However, not everything is perfect in paradise.
Many Filipinos live on less than 15 cents per day. They’ve lost hope for their future and are just doing whatever they can to survive. They’ve forgotten what it feels like to feel like they matter.
You can help them hope again.
Ministry: Jeff Long is the founder of Kids International Ministries (KIM). He has lived in the Philippines for more than 20 years and has developed his ministry in the Philippines to cover many areas and islands. Ministry opportunities will include working with KIM’s children’s home and toddler room: playing with the kids, playing sports, taking care of the toddlers including feeding, playing with and helping to love on them and develop their relational skills. Teams will also get to work with the schools that KIM has built to educate the community they work in.
In addition, your ministry might include:
- Sports Ministry: They love to play sports in the Philippines! While working with the school, you may do some sports camps to include basketball or volleyball.
- Disaster Relief: The Typhoon that swept through the Philippines a few years ago left a big mark on the landscape. There are still areas in need of relief work.
- More: Other ministry opportunities include an employment development assistance, salon and spa ministry, and community outreach.
There are orphans longing to be loved, women and children looking for a listening ear, and destitute people in search of hope.
A trip to the Philippines will transform your worldview and change your life, but it will also change the lives of the people you come into contact with. Are you ready?
