No country on earth has been more devastated by HIV/AIDS than Swaziland. With the highest rate of infection in the world, almost every family is affected. 40% of all Swazi children are orphans. Mothers are often left widowed and with no means to support their hungry children, due to lack of education. The warm hearts of the people of Swazi are bound to capture your heart unlike any other community you’ve encountered.

Ministry
- You’ll spend most of your time at the Carepoints, playing with, teaching, and helping care for the children who come for a daily meal and a safe place to be kids.
- You may visit homes and hospitals in the community to meet people, hear their stories, and pray for them, and maybe help maintain the community garden.
- You’ll live your faith as you explore the wonders of Africa—swimming at waterfalls, shopping at local markets, and maybe even going on a safari!

Pray for Swaziland
The impact of HIV/AIDS cannot be overstated – it has devastated the population. Life expectancy plummeted to age 32 in 2008 (according to some reports), and 26% of adults (up to 40% in other reports) are HIV-positive. Sixty-one percent of all deaths could be attributed to HIV/AIDS. The pandemic has denuded society of a young adult workforce, and many households are orphaned and led by the oldest sibling.
