Named after the Spanish word for “Equator”, Ecuador is full of natural beauty. From the Amazon River to Andean glacial volcanoes, this country—and its people—are sure to enthrall you. Unfortunately, its people are also no stranger to poverty.
With 25% of its populations living below the poverty line, many men, women, and children are struggling to get by. You will get the opportunity to feed the hungry, but also share the love of Jesus.
You will be partnering with Pan De Vida whose mission is to “gather the resources needed to help the less fortunate people in Quito to come to a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, and to develop to the fullest their God-given potential.”
Currently, they serve over 1600 people with by-weekly meals, the Word of God, medical assistance & micro business programs to help them get out of extreme poverty.
Ministry:
Ministry at Pan De Vida is varied, options include vacation Bible schools, sports camps, micro-business projects, construction/work projects, health fairs, cooking and serving food to the poor, leading worship, and giving sermons.
This could be a great opportunity for people studying social work or sociology, people with a heart to serve those in poverty, and those who like working with kids.
